Evaluate Energy Launches Program To Address Energy Skills Shortage

The Canadian energy sector is facing a shortage of skilled workers equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the needs of today’s industry.

Traditional training and education programs are struggling to keep pace with sustainability requirements and emerging technologies.

In response, Evaluate Energy has launched a new subscription training service tailored for the oil and gas industry. This training service offers comprehensive, industry-specific training designed to arm professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary for the evolving sector.

“The energy industry has significantly raised its sustainability goals and ambitions,” said Bemal Mehta, Head of Evaluate Energy’s ESG Learning team. “It is critical to have trained professionals to execute and deliver on these objectives.”

The industry-led and industry-approved courses are based on seven themes: CCUS, hydrogen, emissions management, energy transition technologies, environment, ESG fundamentals, regulatory compliance, and social and governance.

“We have over 30 courses, and that library is always growing,” said Mehta. “The library is a combination of on-demand e-learning that can be taken anytime, anywhere, along with live webinar classes delivered by industry experts in various areas of sustainability."

Live courses are delivered by recognized industry experts such as Mark Taylor (regulatory) and Richard Baker (CCUS).

Subscriptions are flexible, allowing companies to sign up individuals, teams, or entire organizations for unlimited access to these valuable resources.

“We’ve developed courses for the industry, by the industry. They are courses that meet the industry where they are... approachable, easy to access, learn, and designed for the adult learner,” said Mehta.
